The All U.P. Workers Union Manila, is a chapter of the All U.P. Workers Union in U.P. Manila. The All U.P. Workers Union was registered as a public sector union in 1988 with CSC/DOLE. It is the duly recognized "sole and exclusive negotiating agent of all the rank-and-file administrative employees of the University of the Philippines" beginning August 8, 2001. U.P. Manila is an autonomous Constituent University of the University of the Philippines System. Otherwise known as the "Health Sciences Center", it was composed of the different health colleges of the university like the Colleges' of Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, etc. And have its own College of Arts and Sciences, and National Graduate School for the Health Sciences. It have administrative control on the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) - the largest in the Philippines. U.P. Manila also houses the Philippine's National Institutes of Health - the country's foremost research institution on the health sciences. The administrative rank-and-file employeees of U.P. Manila totals to 3,400, or 40% of the 8,500 rank-and-file administrative employees of the entire U.P. System.
